Just another piece of work at my desk right now: design review/best practice check of a global Cisco WAAS network. After more than one year of operating a global Cisco WAAS network in our company we decided to work with Cisco on a design/software version and best practive review to get the latest out of our WAAS network. Right now we have approx. 15 appliances running world wide, which is not a big environment. In general the application accelleration works wells, but we still try to get the latest little piece of performance out of this environment. WAN speeds vary in our MPLS network from 4Mbps per link up to redundant 90Mbps. At the moment our most critical topics regarding WAAS are better load sharing of WAAS HA clusters and for sure a recommendation for a new software release 4.2 or 4.3? Besides this we also would like to hear what Cisco recommends to tune our environment even more to the edge.
I’ll keep you posted on this…
